Our History
From a Dream of Efficient Use to a Scalable Online Marketplace for Everyone.
In 2014, Spotmarket was founded by Michael Svendsen and Mike Borregaard, as an enterprise marketplace for retail. The vision of the founders was to create an online marketplace, based on their experience from 30 years in retail and 10 years in entrepreneurship. The goal was to make communication between buyers and sellers as convenient and efficient as possible.
As time passed, Coop Denmark saw the potential of getting their own personalised platform. A platform that would enable all their individual grocers to access a closed marketplace, customised to Coop’s specific needs. Since Spotmarket was tailored to Coop Denmark, their marketplace has had a turnover of more than 40M Euro.
In 2021 Trade Technology was created as the umbrella company for Spotmarket and Gaztro. Since then we have continued creating and servicing custom full-service marketplaces across various industries.
